Our key take-aways from 2019

We have analyzed our startup rating activities from 2019 and found some interesting results. Overall, we have rated 739 startups with our proprietary rating model. It covers more than 200 parameters on the four dimensions product, business model, market, and team. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
In 2019, we rated 739 startups of which 28% belonged to the industry of Software Application. Since we work agnostic to any industry, we have been involved in many different fields over the last year. Find here the top 10 industries we encountered the most when rating startups.
As you can see, BV4 focuses on early stage startups with 59% of our ratings being done about seed stage startups.
Most of the Startups we have analysed have Swiss origins. We also clearly see that there are three main hubs in Switzerland, Zurich, Lausanne and the "crypto valley" around Zug.
Once you have been an entrepreneur, it is natural to repeat the experience! At BV4, we observed that 51% of the startup founders had already founded a company in the past and 12% of them are serial entrepreneurs!
Last year, we considered 25% of the cases that we have analyzed as investment-eligible.
